Memorial Service: "I Will Not Leave You Alone..."
by Ben Roe, Information Administrator, RMCUMC:
The memorial service was a meaningful time as those members of
the Conference Community (clergy and lay members) were remembered
and appreciated.
Bishop Brown, in his reflection, reminded us that we have been
touched; our lives have been enriched by those we recognize. He
reminded us that some of the most dreaded and most hurtful things
can, with the mediation of God, can be transformed in ways that
only God can do, so that even our pains become a blessing.
He reminded that God says, "I will not leave you alone to
carry this weight by yourself. Open yourself to me and I will be
open to you."
Bishop Brown left us with the question: what are the ways that
you will seek to be extravagant with the love that has been given
to you? Where will you share the love that you have received so
that the world may be transformed?"
