BISHOP'S BIG READ--

Here is the scoop!

At Annual Conference this year, you signed up to take part in the Bishop's Big Read, either as a convener or a participant.

Sign-ups were by District and grouops are to be self-organizing. Enclosed you will find a list of all those in your District who also indicated an interest in being involved. We ask that conveners and participants contact each other to make plans and invite others to participate as well. The more groups, the better.

There is a downloadable discussion guide on the following web-site: www.jimcollins.com. Use it if you choose to do so.

You may hold as many or as few sessions as you wish. YOU design the format and the approach. We ask only that you let us know when a group is formed and is meeting.

Please report the following to Rev. Marla Kauerz at mfkauerz@hope-umc.org. Include:

• Convener name and contact information
• Number of participants
• Meeting location including district and church or community

Copies of the book are available from Cokesbury, 730 W. Hampden, Englewood, CO at a 40% discount ($25.53).

The enclosed brochure* will be available on the Conference web-site (www.rmcumc.org) as a down-loadable attachment. Feel free to use it to invite others to join us.

Good to Great and the monograph, Good to Great and the Social Sectors by Jim Collins are the first selections in the Bishop's Big Read. We hope to offer others in the future. Thank you for being a part of this venture!
